Oxford Day 0

Monday I arrived at St. Steve ‘s house. It’s a day before the institute begins. The grounds are beautiful. It is a former monastery that only recently was turned over to the college. My room looks out towards the church.
This is the view from my bed. There is virtually no one here today so I have free run of the place which they don’t seem to lock up. It is fun exploring an old monastery in the evening. There are two worship spaces. A large proper church designed by G. F. Bodley who most famously designed the National Cathedral in D.C. and a smaller chapel, both of which have excellent acoustics.

I spent the day at Christ Church cathedral and Magdalen College as well as walking the Main Street of Oxford just soaking it all in. What an adventure this will be.
